Adobe Flash ads launch Clipboard hijack attack by Rogues

Web-based attacks continue to affect Windows, Mac and Linux users by hijacking clipboards and spreading malicious links via Adobe Flash-based banner advertising on legitimate sites.

One of the rogues involved, xp-vista-update.net, is rated by McAfee as ‘Green’.

ClipGuru, a free clipboard manager from HTConsulting – http://clipguru.com – attempts to notify users of Windows clipboard hijacking. It does not prevent the attack, since it is under Windows clipboard control, but it does notify of it.
