I upgraded my blog to the latest and greatest WordPress release, and a few plugins are broken.
What fun. Anyway, I am playing with my different themes at the moment and can display at least a few tags, from the many that disappeared after the 2.3 install.
Update: WordPress 2.3 has native tagging and one can import previous tags. Waiting patiently to see if the author of ‘Simple Tagging’ manages to get that plugin working with 2.3, or else I may have to retag 296 posts.
Another update: Fellow MVP Nellie2 gave me a tip and I have successfully imported all my previous Tags.
I backed up my Blog, (just in case and good practice), then with the Simple Tagging plugin de-activated, I imported all my tags.
Easy! Thank you WordPress 2.3 and Nellie2.
Ok so it’s not about security, but I have an interest in Word Press as it is my blogging platform.

Validation Issue Fix
We’ve been receiving reports on our forum and through customer service starting last night that Windows Vista validations have been failing on genuine systems. It looks now as though the issue has been resolved and validations are being processed successfully.
Customers who received an incorrect validation response can fix their system by revalidating on our site (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine). We encourage anyone who received a validation failure since Friday evening to do this now. After successfully revalidating any affected system should be rebooted to ensure the genuine-only features are restored.
I held off writing an update until posts from a few users, who were still reporting problems after trying to revalidate, had abated.
Kudos to the WGA Team for resolving the issue quickly, although I am sure this incident will add fire to the already hot WGA debate.

I have been a bit busy and now catching up on blogs, articles, news etc.
Saw paperghost had recently blogged about a site called ‘zingozango’.
Apprantly the Canadian owner of the zingozango blog has received a C&D from Zango’s Trademark Compliance Team.
His response was:
The Zango Trademark Compliance Team can kiss my ass.
This will be interesting…

“Damn, I am so busted, yo” was the headline at Dan Lyons blog Sunday, August 05.
Well it had to happen. Honestly I can’t believe it’s taken this long. But as you may have heard, I’ve been busted by a newspaper reporter. My cover has been blown.

Weblog Tools Collection posted an alert regarding a site called Templatebrowser dot com, which provides direct downloads to public blog themes.
Apprantly the themes have been modified to include an additional functions.php file, which calls home after a theme is installed and can be used to insert hidden spam or malware links.
Mark Ghosh strongly suggests users stay away from the site.
